Mother's Day
This is a bit late, but that's okay. Here it is!
My birthday was the day before Mother's Day, so I had an amazing weekend! The weather was beautiful, clear, sunny, and warm. We attended a session at the temple, went out to lunch with just the two of us and Craig gave me a lovely bouquet of flowers and an iPad! (Which, by the way, is amazing and we're both addicted). On Mother's Day, Craig brought me a delicious omelet and Daniel gave me a big kiss (although he had one surprise waiting to top off the day) Church was great, and the talks about motherhood and fatherhood were uplifting and inspiring. That evening was the first time I got to Skype with my mother. She and dad could see their grandson and were very happy. Plus it was nice to be able to tell her Happy Mother's Day in (almost) person! Afterwards we went on a little family walk to absorb as much sunshine as we could and Daniel was a little angel, just looking around at everything. When we got home, we enjoyed rest of the evening by relaxing and having some good ol' fashioned time together. I'm very grateful to my sweet husband for making and the rest of my family for making it a great birthday/Mother's day weekend!
Little Daniel wanted to make sure he gave me the last and best present, so at the end of the day, when I was playing with him just a little before bedtime, I held him up so he could 'fly' over my head. He took his opportunity to give me my present:
(Yup, that's baby vomit) What a thoughtful little boy. He did such a good job with my present that it dripped down the front AND back of my hair! I couldn't help but thinking it was the most ironic mother's day present ever! Needless to say, Craig put the baby to bed while I took a shower. :)

First blog ever
Thanks to a little push from a friend, I considered finally having my own blog. I almost decided against it, thinking that I would have enough to write about. But alas, here I am. And although writing this first little post is way more difficult that I thought it would be, I'm hoping that if I try something interesting will come of it. Wish me luck!
In case you were wondering, "lien" is the first part of my last name, which is lots of fun to smush together with other words. Plus, lien is a french word for connection, or bond. Therefore the title is to describe what I hope will be a narrative of some of the adventures we have as a family that unite and strengthen us. Plus it's way cheesy, which is awesome.
